Practical walkthroughs for treasurers, admins, and members — from creating a fund to exporting statements for audit.

Create a fund

Start a shared ledger for your group.

  1. On Home, tap New fund.
  2. Pick a template (society, trip, wedding, etc.) or start blank.
  3. Enter name, emoji, and optional fund target.
  4. Invite members via invite code, email, or on-device contacts.
  5. Optional: set up expense caps during creation, or skip and add later on Plan.

After: The fund appears on Home. Members can add money and log expenses once they join.

Add money to the fund

Record money received into the group's shared pool.

This is a ledger entry, not a transfer through noflaw. Collect money in your bank or UPI app first, then log it here.

  1. Open the fund → Received tab → Add money.
  2. Enter the amount.
  3. Confirm who added — defaults to you; admins can pick another member.
  4. Pick method: UPI, Cash, Card, or Bank.
  5. Optional: note and receipt photo.
  6. Save.

From a collection due: Open collection dues on Received, tap the due row — the form prefills.

Log an expense

Record money paid out from the shared pool.

  1. Open the fund → ExpensesAdd expense, or use Scan & pay.
  2. Enter amount and title.
  3. Pick a category (required when expense caps exist).
  4. Confirm who paid — defaults to you.
  5. Optional: date, notes, receipt attachment.
  6. Save.

From a payment due: Open payment dues on Expenses, tap the due row — the form prefills.

Set up Plan

Set caps and dues before the period runs.

  1. Fund settings → Enable budget.
  2. Open the fund → Plan (from Fund info).
  3. Expense caps — add optional limits per category.
  4. Payment dues — add bills with due dates; execute on Expenses tab.
  5. Collection dues — add expected money in; execute on Received tab.
  6. During the period: check Overview and Plan for progress.

Pay with UPI

Pay a vendor in your UPI app and log the expense.

  1. Tap the center Scan & pay tab.
  2. Scan a QR code, pick a QR image, or enter a VPA manually.
  3. Confirm amount, title, category, and fund.
  4. Choose your UPI app — GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, or BHIM.
  5. Return to noflaw and confirm whether payment succeeded.
  6. The expense is added to the fund automatically.

Join a fund

Get access to a group's shared ledger.

  1. Install noflaw and sign in (or register).
  2. Enter the invite code from your treasurer, or accept an email invite.
  3. The fund appears on Home.

Export for auditor

Download a statement for trustee review or filing.

  1. Open the fund → Activity tab.
  2. Tap Download statement.
  3. Choose PDF or Excel and a date range.
  4. Share or save the file.
