Account deletion

Last updated: June 8, 2026

You can delete your noflaw account at any time. This page describes how to do it in the app, what we remove, and what may stay on shared funds you participated in.

Delete in the app (recommended)

  1. Open noflaw and sign in.
  2. Go to the Profile tab.
  3. Scroll to Delete account and confirm.
  4. If you signed up with email and password, enter your password to confirm.

Deletion is processed immediately after you confirm. You are signed out and cannot log in again with the same account.

Before you delete

If you own a shared fund (not your personal fund), you must delete that fund or transfer ownership to another member first. The app will block account deletion until you do.

What we delete

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:

  • Your user profile (name, email, phone, UPI ID, password hash).
  • Your sign-in sessions and verification tokens.
  • Your personal fund (soft-deleted with your account).
  • Your membership in shared funds (you are removed from member lists and roles).
  • Push notification tokens linked to your account.

What we may keep

Shared fund ledgers are a group record. Expenses, money added, and attachments you logged in shared funds may remain visible to remaining members as part of that fund's history, but they are no longer linked to your personal profile after deletion.

We may retain minimal server logs for security and abuse prevention for a limited period, then delete or anonymize them.

How long deletion takes

Account deletion via the app is immediate once confirmed. Backup systems may take up to 30 days to purge residual copies.
